Children fighting pediatric cancer need your help! The Lawrence Park Swim Team in cooperation with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, is holding a
100 Mile Swim-a-thon in order to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is a unique foundation that has evolved from
Alexandra Scott, a young cancer patient creating her own front yard lemonade stand to a nationwide fundraising movement for childhood cancer. The
Foundation is committed not only to raising money and awareness for pediatric cancer and research into new cures and treatments, but also to educating and
encouraging others, especially children, to raise money for childhood cancer.
Today we would like to offer you the opportunity to help our swim team raise funds to find a cure for pediatric cancer while at the same time advertising for your
business. Lawrence Park Swim Team is holding its 5th Annual 100 Mile Swim-a-thon to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Lawrence Park Swim Club, located
in Broomall, PA on Friday, June 12th and Saturday, June 13th, 2009. Swimmers ages 13-18 will attempt once again to complete a continuous 100 mile relay while
swimmers 12 and under will complete as many laps as they can in one hour; all to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand.
Here are some ways you or your business can help make this year’s swim-a-thon a true success:
1. Your family or business can be a t-shirt sponsor for a donation of $50. Your company name or logo will be placed on the back of our swim-a-thon t-shirt. Shirts
will be available for sale all weekend during the swim-a-thon at the swim club.
2. Make a pledge in any amount with which you are comfortable.
3. Sponsor a swimmer you know with a per lap pledge.
Lastly, you can come down to the pool and cheer on the swimmers as they swim for a cure.
If you wish to make a donation, please complete and detach the form at the bottom of this letter. Return it with the necessary information and check or cash. The
cutoff for t-shirt sponsors is June 2nd. Please know that your pledge or donation will help us continue Alex Scott’s original vision of fighting childhood cancer
