Welcome back to another Lawrence Park Swim Season!

Once again we will be holding 100-Mile Swim-a-thon to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand and pediatric cancer.  This is our 5th Annual Swim-a-thon and a great team-bonding event.  As in previous years, we need everyone’s help and participation in order to be successful.  Swimmers can start right away by getting to practice so they are in shape and ready to swim.  They can also begin to fill the attached pledge sheet. Parents are needed and volunteer sign-up sheets are available at all practice times. Thank you in advance for your time and continued support of this event.  If there are any other ways you would like to help out, please let us know.  We are again looking for T-shirt sponsors for a donation of $50.  If you think your business or family are interested, forms are attached.  Please return as soon as possible to Liz Cassidy, Coach Kathryn, Eileen McShane or leave at the pool office.

The agenda will be a little different this year.  We hope everyone will make time to participate.  This year we will be trying to complete the 100-Mile Relay in 24 hours by using two lanes. This means one overnight giving our swimmers more recuperation before our first swim meet and frees up Father’s Day.  The 12 year-olds and younger will be doing their part by swimming as many laps as possible on Saturday morning. We hope that they will get sponsors to pledge them per lap. The annual Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Lang family will follow on Saturday morning. We are adding a Bar-b-que/Potluck Dinner on Saturday night to celebrate the completion of another great fund-raiser.

Of course, we will again be having the lemonade stand, T-shirts for sale, music, 50/50, and the enthusiastic MC, Blake McShane. See attached T-shirt order form. Return completed forms  Tee Shirt Order  to Liz Cassidy, Coach Kathryn, Eileen McShane or leave at the pool office before the cut off date.

This has been a memorable event for the entire team and a great way for the swim team to give back to children who are less fortunate. We hope this year will add to the memories!!

Thanks again for all your efforts to make this year’s Swim-a-thon a fun experience and success.

Best,

Blake McShane
