Children fighting pediatric cancer need your help! The Lawrence Park Swim Team, in cooperation with Alex’s LemonadeStand Foundation, is holding a 100 Mile Swim-a-thon in order to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is a unique organization that has evolved from Alexandra Scott, a young cancer patient creating her own front yard lemonade stand, to a nationwide fundraising movement. The foundation is committed not only to raising money and awareness for pediatric cancer and research into new cures and treatments, but also to educating and encouraging others, especially children, to raise money for childhood cancer.

Today we would like to offer you the opportunity to help our swim team raise funds to find a cure for pediatric cancer while at the same time advertising for your business. Lawrence Park Swim Team is holding its 6th Annual 100 Mile Swim-a-thon to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand from Friday, June 18th to Saturday, June 19th, 2010 at Lawrence Park Swim Club, located in Broomall, PA. Our team will complete 100 miles in 24 hours, with our older swimmers completing a continuous relay even through the overnight hours. Our younger swimmers will also take part on Friday afternoon and Saturday.

Please consider becoming a “T-Shirt Sponsor” for the 6th Annual LPST Swim-a-thon for $50.00. Your company’s name or logo will be placed on the back of our event t-shirts. These shirts will be for available for sale all weekend at the club during the swim-a-thon. If you are not comfortable with a $50.00 donation, please support our cause in any way you can, either with a donation of another amount or by coming to Lawrence Park and cheering on our athletes as they swim for a cure!

If you wish to make a donation, please complete and detach the form at the bottom of this letter. Return it with the necessary information and check (or cash if hand delivering) in the self addressed envelope attached. Please make sure we receive your form by Thursday, June 3rd, 2010. Please know that your donation will help our swimmers continue Alex Scott’s original vision of fighting childhood cancer one cup at a time.
