"The Dolphins"
We participate in the Delco League, which is made up of 18
teams in 3 divisions (A, B and C). This will be our twelfth year in the "A" Division. The official
League rules are the current NCAA rules, with a few exceptions tailored
specifically for our league. This is a team of a lot of skill and a
lot of fun. We want our swimmers to enjoy the season by developing
their skills through practice and competition, and have fun while doing so.
The swim team consists of three teams: Varsity, Junior Varsity and Pre-Team.
First time swimmers will be assigned by coaches to the appropriate level
based on age and ability.
We have a small team, so every swimmer is important to the success of
the team and of their particular age group. If your swimmer
comes to practice, we will make every effort to have him or her compete.
We want parents to feel welcome at our meets and included with the
team. We routinely recruit from among our parents for help at the
meets. Swim team officials will make assignments, based on team needs,
on the day of the meet.
During the second weekend of June, the swim team bands
together to swim a continuous 100 mile relay - swim-a-thon to raise money
for Alex's Lemonade Stand. Braving the wee hours of the morning and
cool temps, this annual event has proven to be a great team bonding and
character building event to support those who are less fortunate.
Please support our swimmers and the fight against pediatric cancer.
Lawrence Park
Swim Club
The Lawrence Park Swim Club is in its
fifth decade of providing quality summer recreational swimming for residents
of Marple, Haverford and neighboring townships. This private swim club is peacefully
located at the end of Langford Road, approximately one half mile north of Sproul
Road (Rt. 320). In the most recent seasons, the club's beauty has been
enhanced with several major upgrades, including a 63 foot waterslide, new
tile and coping for our pools, new toddler play equipment and a newly
constructed clubhouse that was completed in 2003. With this being
said, it is truly the Family Memberships that define the real value of
this swim club. With over 400 active families, a busy social calendar of events and a competitive swim
team that is always looking for new swimmers of all ages, The Lawrence Park
Swim Club is always a great place for summer fun.
